Hopeful Horizons, a Nonprofit Children's Advocacy, Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center serving the Lowcountry, is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Multidisciplinary Response Coordinator

This new full-time position will be based out of the 14th Judicial Circuit’s Family Justice Center in the Bluffton area. The Multidisciplinary Response Coordinator works to enhance and improve direct services to victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault by coordinating and facilitating case review processes with community partners and advancing community response protocols that promote victim safety and client-centered, evidence-based best practices. This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of the 14th circuit’s Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and facilitating monthly MDT meetings to review child abuse cases. The Multidisciplinary Response Coordinator will also serve as a liaison to community partners and work with the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council (DVCC) and Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).

Qualified applicants must have: a Bachelor’s degree (MSW or similar degree preferred); at least two years inter-agency experience; demonstrated ability in collaborative leadership and working with diverse constituencies; strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex scheduling and prioritize goals; excellent computer skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; ability to work independently and to take initiative; a valid South Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record and willingness to travel throughout a five-county service area; and must pass background checks.

Domestic Violence (DV) Victim Advocate

This new full-time position will be based in Bluffton, but travel throughout a four-county service area will be will be required. The DV Victim Advocate will provide support, advocacy and assistance to adult victims of domestic violence throughout the healing process. This position will: provide immediate crisis intervention via telephone or in person; act as a liaison to hospitals and other professionals in our four-county service area to ensure an appropriate and seamless response to victims; work with victims to identify needs and make referrals for services; facilitate support group; and attend Domestic Violence Coordinating Council meetings.

 

Qualified applicants must have: a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (or similar) or equivalent experience; the ability to work independently and as a team – must be self-directed; excellent public relations and communication skills; a valid South Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record and willingness to travel throughout a four-county service area; and must pass background checks.

Intake Advocate

This new full-time position will be based out of the 14th Judicial Circuit’s Family Justice Center in the Bluffton area. The Intake Advocate will act as Hopeful Horizons’ service ambassador at the Family Justice Center – creating a welcoming, safe environment for victims to seek services. The Intake Advocate will: complete intakes for service and provide support, advocacy and assistance to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; provide immediate crisis intervention in person or via telephone; act as a liaison to community partners at the Family Justice Center; and participate in Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and Sexual Assault Response Team meetings.

Qualified applicants must have: a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in human services or interfacing with the public (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred); the ability to work independently and as a team – must be self-directed; excellent public relations and communication skills; a valid South Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record and willingness to travel throughout a four-county service area; and must pass background checks.

Therapist

This full-time position will be based in Beaufort and may require some travel in a five-county service area. The Therapist will provide counseling services and evidence-based trauma treatment to victims of child abuse and sexual assault.

Qualified applicants must: have a Masters in Social Work, Counseling, or related field; be licensed or working toward licensure in South Carolina; work well independently and as a member of a team; have good computer skills and strong communication skills; have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and pass background checks. Preference will be given to applicants who are bilingual in English and Spanish.
