Under the direction of the Director of Forensic Nursing, the Lead FNE will responsible for creating and maintaining a pediatric and adolescent sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) program responding to local hospital emergency departments in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina to provide forensic examinations to acute cases of pediatric and adolescent sexual assault/abuse.
1.Develop protocols for the program and contracts with area hospitals for SANE services.
2.Manage day to day operations of a pediatric forensic nurse team.
3.Establishes annual FNEs competency, educational and quality assurance goals.
4.Develop call schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage of area (7 counties)
5.Utilize a compassionate victim-centered approach to service provision.
6.Respond to local emergency departments during assigned shifts and participating in on-callshifts each week as needed caring for victims of sexual assault aged 1 yrs to 18 yrs.
7.Document all services conducted during the exam and submit paperwork to appropriatedepartments and/or agencies in a timely manner.
8.Maintain custody of evidence until transferred to law enforcement.
9.Maintain nursing license and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification.
10.Participate in area sexual assault response teams meetings (SART)
11.Attend staff development trainings as indicated by supervisor.
12.Attend staff meetings as indicated by supervisor.
13.Follow all organization, program, project, and hospital policies related to the FNE services andensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
14.Participate in community trainings and educational endeavors
Registered Nurse licensed in SC
BSN ( MSN preferred)
SANE/SAFE Certification (A or P)Willingness to obtain SANE-P certification if SANE-A
Excellent clinical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills
Managerial experience a plus
Salaried 75k- Exempt from all overtime rules.
