Empowering SC Communities & Children's Advocacy Centers to deliver a best practice response to child abuse.
The South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC) is an accredited state chapter of the National Children’s Alliance (NCA). We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) membership organization and statewide leader in the response to child abuse representing all Children’s Advocacy Center programs in South Carolina. Our 1st annual Seaside Symposium on Child Abuse will be held in the spring of 2024 and registration is open.
We all have a responsibility to protect children and know what to do if we observe child abuse/neglect or a child discloses that they have been harmed. During times of economic instability and other crises, children can be isolated from the places where adults and friends might become aware of an issue with their safety or well-being. That is why children need all adults to be vigilant and speak out loud enough to be heard on their behalf by reporting abuse. To report child abuse or neglect call888-CARE4US(888-227-3487). SCNCAC Connect is a web-based professional networking community that is designed to connect Children's Advocacy Centers and Multidisciplinary Team professionals. It provides several tools and resources to connect CAC/MDT professionals with a community of their peers across South Carolina. CAC/MDT members can participate in eLearning sessions, register for events, view resources, access training certificates, engage in focused online discussions, and much more.
There are 17 primary CACs in South Carolina, and many are regional CACs that cover multiple counties. There are also 12 satellite CACs operated by regional CACs in the state. Together, they provide an array of child-focused services to children.
