Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences. The Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina (CACNC) and the South Carolina Network of Children's Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC) have been awarded a collaborative grant from The Duke Endowment to meet the increased demand for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and delivery of TF-CBT via a Telehealth model. This grant will result in the training of 150 Children's Advocacy Center associated clinicians in North Carolina and South Carolina.
What to do next:There will be two TF-CBT Training Cohorts in 2021. The first will begin in March and the second will begin sometime in the fall. If you are interested in either of the Training Cohorts, please review the Cohort one training flyer to the right which will give you information on program requirements for both Training Cohorts and specific date information for Training Cohort one. If you are a therapist associated with a SCNCAC or CACNC member Children's Advocacy Center in South Carolina or North Carolina and you are interested in participating in Training Cohort one or two, please contact your CAC Director or Supervisor for approval.
