CAC Day

As part of Child Abuse Prevention month, April 1st, 2026 will be Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) Day in South Carolina. Hundreds of professionals and CAC supporters will join Attorney General Alan Wilson, the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC), the South Carolina Department of Children’s Advocacy, the South Carolina Department of Social Services, Children’s Trust of South Carolina, and members of the General Assembly for the 15th Annual Children’s Advocacy Center Day both in person and via livestream from the South Carolina State Capitol. You will be able to view the press conference live on April 1st by using the viewer above.

We have requested that Governor McMaster issue a Governor’s Proclamation declaring April 1, 2026 as Children’s Advocacy Center Day in South Carolina to recognize the valuable contributions that Children’s Advocacy Centers make to protect children and enhance the response to child abuse. We have also requested that The South Carolina General Assembly issue a Concurrent Resolution declaring Wednesday, April 1, 2026 as Children’s Advocacy Center Day in South Carolina.

During the CAC Day press conference, SCNCAC will present the 2026 BeHeard4Kids State Leadership Award. The press conference and awards presentation will provide information and announcements from Attorney General Alan Wilson and SCNCAC about the statewide response to child abuse in South Carolina and celebrate the work of Children’s Advocacy Centers to protect kids.

The entire press conference and awards ceremony will be available via livestream using the viewer above. SCNCAC and our member CACs would like to thank Attorney General Alan Wilson and his staff for hosting the press conference. A CAC Day save the date and Child Abuse Prevention month flyer are available for download at the bottom of this page.

As part of Child Abuse Prevention Month and in celebration of Children’s Advocacy Center Day, we are highlighting the work of Children’s Advocacy Centers and multidisciplinary teams in the statewide response to child abuse. An important part of child abuse prevention is ensuring that there is an evidence based best practice response to child abuse in South Carolina. We have developed a number of social media posts for Child Abuse Prevention Month and have posted them here. Click on any of the pictures to view it in a large format or to download it to share with your child abuse prevention social media posts. Together we can #BeHeard4Kids during Child Abuse Prevention Month and all year long.

If you are interested in supporting our work as an individual or organization, we invite you to become a BeHeard4Kids sponsor to support our CAC Day and other work to empower South Carolina communities and CACs to continue to deliver a best practice response to child abuse.
