CAC Day
As part of Child Abuse Prevention month, April 15th, 2025 was Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) Day in South Carolina. Hundreds of professionals and CAC supporters joined Attorney General Alan Wilson, the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC), the South Carolina Department of Children’s Advocacy, the South Carolina Department of Social Services, Children’s Trust of South Carolina, and members of the General Assembly for the 14th Annual Children’s Advocacy Center Day both in person and via livestream from the South Carolina State Capitol. Governor McMaster issued a Governor’s Proclamation declaring April 15, 2025 as Children’s Advocacy Center Day in South Carolina to recognize the valuable contributions that Children’s Advocacy Centers make to protect children and enhance the response to child abuse. The South Carolina General Assembly has issued a Concurrent Resolution declared Wednesday, April 15, 2025 as Children’s Advocacy Center Day in South Carolina.
During the CAC Day press conference, SCNCAC presented the 2025 BeHeard4Kids State Leadership Award. The press conference and awards presentation provided information and announcements from Attorney General Alan Wilson and SCNCAC about the statewide response to child abuse in South Carolina and celebrated the work of Children’s Advocacy Centers to protect kids.

SCNCAC staff and CAC representatives from across South Carolina gathered in the balcony of the of the Senate Chamber in the State House after the press conference to be recognized from the floor of the Senate.
As part of Child Abuse Prevention Month and in celebration of Children’s Advocacy Center Day, we are highlighting the work of Children’s Advocacy Centers and multidisciplinary teams in the statewide response to child abuse. An important part of child abuse prevention is ensuring that there is an evidence based best practice response to child abuse in South Carolina.
