At SCNCAC, we are committed to providing South Carolina Children’s Advocacy Centers with financial support for the critically-needed services they provide to children and families in need. This includes private foundation and endowment grants as well as administering CAC State Funding. For the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 state fiscal years, the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC), under a cooperative agreement with the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, administered $170,000 in state funds to be awarded to CACs. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, this funding was not included in the continuing resolution to fund state government for the 2020-2021 state fiscal year. Funding was restored for the 2021-2022 state fiscal year and SCNCAC administered the $170,000 of funding through a cooperative agreement with the South Carolina Department of Children’s Advocacy. For the 2023-2024 state fiscal year the proposed funding is $1,160,000 and will once again be administered by SCNCAC through a cooperative agreement with the South Carolina Department of Children’s Advocacy.

SCNCAC CAC State Funding Reports

In order to ensure transparency and accountability for CAC state funding, SCNCAC provides yearly reports to provide sufficient context, description, justification, and information regarding the CAC projects that are supported with state funds.  These reports provide information to allow policymakers and the public to evaluate the merit of CAC state funded activities and provide confidence that the funds are appropriately spent to support and strengthen the statewide response to child abuse in South Carolina. The 2022-2023 report provides information about the CAC services provided with state funding and how individual CACs used the funding to support children and families.
