Columbia SC – On September 9, 2021, leaders from Children’s Advocacy Centers across South Carolina attended the signing of the South Carolina Child Abuse Response Protocol Act. This legislation ensures all children will have access to the best practice and trauma informed services services Children’s Advocacy Centers and multidisciplinary teams provide regardless of where they live in the state.
“Although over 10,000 kids received forensic interviews, forensic medical exams, mental health and other services from Children’s Advocacy Centers last year, we know that some child victims of abuse did not have access to these services”, said Tom Knapp, SCNCAC Executive Director.
