SCNCAC is thrilled to present a three part series for Victim Advocates. This multi-day training is focused on exploring the depth and breadth of the role of the Victim Advocate working with children and families in CACs throughout the state. Its content comports with the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) Standards for Accreditation, and will be inclusive of relevant components of the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Model Standards.

    • To examine the history and evolution of victim advocacy and victim rights, MDTs and CACs, and professional and NCA accreditation standards
    • To understand the specific roles of MDT members and of diverse victim service providers in allied agencies, the dynamics of teamwork and implications for victim advocates
    • To accurately assess crisis and longer-term needs and outcomes for child victims, caregivers and families in a manner that is client-centered, trauma-informed and culturally relevant
    • This first module is great for both Victim Advocates and Program Directors.
