Supporting Families During Unique Situations: Pandemic Edition

This two hour interactive webinar training has been created to assist victim and family advocates in addressing the needs  of families seeking services within the scope of MDT during this pandemic. The training explores current trends across South Carolina and what stressors families may be experiencing including: Isolation, economic struggles, health concerns, an increased need for childcare. Attendees will explore supportive communication opportunities with families and available resources. The training will also address long term support options for families as the country and states begin to open back up.


Objectives:

  • Discuss the current stressors that families may be experiencing during the pandemic and how these stressors may increase a child’s risk for abuse.
  • Explore techniques to support communication opportunities with caregivers and explore resources to empower families during
  • Discuss family/victim advocates current experiences with families and provide peer support through an open forum.
