This virtual training is designed to assist Children’s Advocacy Centers and their Multi-Disciplinary Team Members to better understand the types of abuse and their direct impact on a child’s disclosure. The training will clarify for attendees, what “dynamics” means in the context of abuse, unique and complex coping mechanism in children who have experienced abuse, understand the factors that shape those dynamics and how they influence barriers to disclosure of abuse. By the end of this training, participants should have a working understanding of the disclosure process and how dynamics, relationship to offender and abuse typology can relate to recantation. This training will offer Multi-Disciplinary Team partners an opportunity to examine coping mechanisms in children and how those impact disclosures and recantation. Finally, this training will provide some tools to addressing situations when a recantation occurs.
SCNCAC has created virtual training guidelines to support the virtual training environment and to provide a high quality experience for all who attend our training. Please review the training guidelines prior to registering.
