The work on our 2023-2025 strategic plan began with surveys of member Children’s Advocacy Centers and key stakeholders in the Fall of 2022. The SCNCAC Board of Directors then held a two day strategic planning session to evaluate survey responses and to build a road map for our organization and the Children’s Advocacy Center movement in South Carolina for the next 3 years. Together we decided to focus on four strategic priority areas that will guide the growth and development of our organization and the Children’s Advocacy Center response to child abuse in South Carolina.

Our Four Strategic Plan Priorities

  1. Statewide Partnerships & Awareness
SCNCAC works with statewide partners and education consultants to further the mission of the organization and to increase the awareness of the Children’s Advocacy Center and multidisciplinary team model across South Carolina.
  2. Legislative Advocacy
SCNCAC is an authority on child abuse and the CAC model among public and private stakeholders. In addition, SCNCAC provides public awareness and education for stakeholders and policymakers on the CAC model and the importance of the model in the statewide response to child abuse.
  3. Membership Services
SCNCAC is a resource for identifying, promoting, and providing relevant, affordable, and accessible program assistance, training opportunities, and other services for all member Children’s Advocacy Centers in South Carolina.
  4. Organizational Capacity
SCNCAC ensures that it has the organizational capacity to provide customized support to member Children’s Advocacy Centers in the development and growth of their organization and the CAC model in local communities across the state.

The strategic plan is in effect now through December 31, 2025. SCNCAC staff has prepared a detailed strategic plan dashboard to monitor and report on plan progress. The SCNCAC Board of Directors reviews the strategic plan dashboard at each board of directors meeting to ensure continue progress on all goals and objectives in the plan.
