Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and their caregivers to address trauma-related behavioral and emotional problems. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences. The Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina (CACNC) and the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC) have been awarded a collaborative grant from The Duke Endowment to meet the increased demand for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and delivery of TF-CBT via a Telehealth model. This grant will result in the training of 150 Children’s Advocacy Center associated clinicians in North Carolina and South Carolina.

What to do next:

There will be one TF-CBT Training Cohort in 2022 which will begin in September. If you are interested in this Training Cohort, please review the Cohort 3 training flyer which will give you information on program requirements for the Cohort and specific date information for Training Cohort 3. You may also reach out to SCNCAC or CACNC for more information. Once you have been approved by your CAC Director or Chapter, you will receive registration and other information needed to prepare for the start of the Training Cohort.

If you are a CAC Director interested in having therapists at your CAC, or therapists that provide therapy services for your CAC clients through linkage agreements, attend this training, please contact your state chapter for access information.
